Celebrate crossing the finish line with engaging activities for all ages, and healthy street eats for purchase from food trucks. Participants will receive a T-shirt, runner’s bib, and medal. Be sure to wear your pink and honor the survivors and fighters in your life! Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) is the breast cancer you’ve likely never heard of. It’s also one that’s hard to recognize because it’s not typically identified by finding lumps in the breast. Instead, this rare and very aggressive disease is characterized by cancer cells blocking the lymph vessels in the skin of the breast. The result is the breast often looking swollen and red or inflamed. Inflammatory breast cancer progresses rapidly, often in a matter of weeks and months. And because it can be hard to detect, IBC is often stage III or IV at diagnosis. It tends to be diagnosed at younger ages than other types of breast cancer. Learn more here. |
