Fabulous Fulshear Festivals
There’s more to a community than living in the same zip code. Communities host events that bring people together for fun, education and holiday celebrations. Fulshear is no exception. Here are some upcoming festivals you want to look out for:
October: Fulshear Scarecrow Festival, 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26
The Scarecrow Festival is a beloved fall tradition first hosted by our sister community of Cross Creek Ranch. The highlight of the event is the scarecrow contest, where community members showcase their creativity by designing and displaying unique scarecrows. This friendly competition adds a whimsical touch to the event and encourages local participation. Attendees also enjoy live music, a trunk or treat for kids, games and activities, food trucks and vendors.
November: Gumbo Cook-Off, 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9
Hosted by Cross Creek Ranch, the annual Gumbo Cook-Off benefiting the Fulshear Police Foundation is New Orleans fun for everyone. Cooking “krewes” bring their tastiest gumbo recipes and compete to see which reigns supreme. There are plenty of opportunities to sample as well as live Zydeco music, dancing, live and silent auctions, food vendors, classic cars, fire trucks and police vehicles, games and more.
December: Festival of Lights
This magical annual event transforms Fulshear into a dazzling winter wonderland with a celebration of lights, community spirit and festive activities that bring families and friends together. Families can stroll through historic Fulshear’s illuminated pathways, taking in the festive decorations and capturing memorable photos. There’s also live music, holiday vendors, crafts for kids and Santa Claus.
Throughout the Year
That’s just what’s ahead in the final months of 2024! Other annual events include:
March: Fulshear's St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Shindig
Don your greenest attire and celebrate the Luck of the Irish. Everyone’s favorite event features live music, traditional Irish dance performances, vendors offering items from the Emerald Isle and more.
April: Culinary Crawl at Cross Creek West
We held our first annual Culinary Crawl this year. It was so much fun we decided to do it every year. The crawl features an array of diverse culinary delights and flavors prepared by local restaurants. In between bites attendees can listen to tunes spun by a DJ and participate in activities.
July: Fulshear Freedom Fest
Fulshear marks Independence Day with a vibrant display of community spirit, entertainment and patriotism called Freedom Fest. Traditionally held at Fulshear High School, the event features live music, food trucks offering delicious options from classic American fare to unique culinary delights, a designated kids' area and a spectacular fireworks show that lights up the night sky.
